My Values
Relationship - I want the work I do for you
to free you from the demands and stress of life so that you
have more time to invest in your spouse and kids. That is
the most rewarding feedback for me - to know that my work
has helped you reclaim more time for your family.
Hard
work - I will work as quickly as my thoroughness
allows, respecting your time and money by providing consistent
and efficient quality service.
Long-term
benefits - I want the work I do for you to mark you,
to improve your quality of life. And not just for a month
or two. I work hard to find creative solutions with maximum
benefits to fit your budget and your lifestyle.
Dependability
- I am on time, honest, and trustworthy. Period.
Cleanliness,
Order, Simplicity - that
about sums it up!
How My Saving Grace came to be:
Working my way through college and graduate school on the
North Shore of Chicago found me in many interesting situations.
I lived with families as a part-time nanny. I pet-sat. I set
up and put away Christmas decorations. I served at dinner
parties. Was an elderly woman's companion. Sub-parented. Made
scrapbook albums. Cooked. Organized. Ran errands. Did carpool.
And then
one day I found out there was actually such a thing as "Professional
Organizers." One of the families I cooked for had won
3 free hours with an Organizer from a church fundraiser. And
when I saw what she did I thought "I can do that!"
So I started picking up some jobs organizing pantries, basements,
kitchens....and my name spread.
As I progressed
in my graduate work as a counseling student, God kept the
issue of sexual abuse heavy on my heart. I am angered, grieved,
and overwhelmed by the tremendous pain inflicted on these
women, and I want to do whatever I can to help heal their
deep and haunting wounds.
I was also convinced that I wanted to counsel those who couldn't
afford counseling - maybe even the homeless, the prostitute.
The North Shore families I worked for and lived with enabled
me to graduate debt-free. I know they were God's provision
so that I could 'give away' the knowledge I had gained at
seminary to the women He had kept on my heart for two years.
I am currently
applying to various Louisville homeless shelters and women's
centers as a volunteer counselor.
But if
they can't pay me, how will I pay my bills?
And here, again, I see that God has gone before me and prepared the way - I can use the Organizing, Cooking, and Concierge skills I learned on the North Shore to start my own business.
Some of
my clients have said I was their saving grace. When you employ me, I hope to be yours. And by hiring me, in a roundabout way, you can be a part of an abuse survivor's saving grace.
